Bees on the run!

26 Bees took the start of Lyon « Course des Lumières » (litterally Run of Lights), last November 16th, in spite of the very low 2°C that night…

What? You’ve never heard of the “Course des Lumières”?

The “Course des Lumières” includes four editions: Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse and Paris, respectively supported by Centre Léon Bérard, Fondation Toulouse Cancer Santé, Institut Paoli-Calmettes and Institut Curie.

It also includes 2 speeds (10 km running or 4 km walking), in the city center, with participants equipped with light signals to “light up the night against cancer” who, after dark, start off to raise funds in order to support fight against this illness.

Within 5 lyonnaise editions, the “Course des Lumières” and its luminous athletes enabled to collect donations close to 950 000 € to benefit Centre Leon Berard (Lyon) cancer research.

A charity and sports project for a solidary mobilisation which we had taken to heart for a while… and to which we were quite proud of participating in! This year, close to 160 000 Euros will have been collected by the 3000 participants (1300 runners and 1700 walkers).

Brave and dynamic, our two teams (running and walking) all made it to the finish line… and rather happy to catch a nice and warm tea!

(Big up to Sébastien Belmont and Jean Michard who, with a great sense of humour, had turned into “actual” bees for the occasion…)

See you next year at the 6th edition…
